Student Connections School Social Worker

Welcome to our online Counselor Corner! My goal is to provide as much information and as many resources for students and families as possible. During the school closure in response to COVID-19 I will be using the web page and email to communicate with students and families. I can still access my voicemail remotely so please call if you have any needs. Below are some fun ways to address social and emotional needs during this time. Please feel free to call and leave a message or email me any time, I will try to get back to you within 24-48 hours.

School is CLOSED- now what?

We have entered uncharted territory- distance learning! The building may be closed but learning will go on. Here you can find resources to help with the day to day management of emotions, learning "new normals" and adjusting to different routines (such as teaching you and your children to navigate that google classroom!).

Need help explaining "what's happening" to your kids? Can't find the words? Check out this video that explains the current CO-VID 19 situation in a kid friendly way.

SEL Learning at Home

As school counselors we believe in teaching the WHOLE child. Here you will find activities you can do at home to help your child learn the social emotional skills needed to be a successful and contributing member of society.
Part of our district's counseling program teaches the Second Step lessons in many classrooms. This is part of our social & emotional learning curriculum. They are currently providing many resources for FREE.  Check them out here...
